We all care about our children and their future. The issue of Global Warming is more important than any political party or country. Indeed it is probably the most important issue of our time. The arguing solves little and the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

This “must see” video is valuable for you regardless of which side of the fence you are on.
The report is from CBC in Canada. It is worth keeping an open mind on the issue of Global Warming as it has become so full of rhetoric.

The Denial Machine (With Updates)

“In the past few years, a rhetorical firestorm has engulfed the debate about global warming, pitting science against spin, with inflammatory words on both sides. That debate only intensified recently when former Vice-President Al Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize for his populist environmental campaign.

Last season, the fifth estate’s Bob McKeown investigated the roots of another kind of campaign–one to negate the science and the threat of global warming. You can watch The Denial Machine again, more timely than ever, with new, updated information.”

The final thoughts are from an improbable source…

“If you really care about Global Warming…
Take it out of the politiacl sphere,
Take it out of trying to beat each other up over the head,
Be Honest,
Do not yell,
Focus on solutions that will actually make a difference.
Not everything in life is about politics!”

-Frank Luntz - Republican Guru
(Once a staunch denier and word smith for GWB playbook on GW…
now a Global Warming believer)

Hope this helps some folks balance all the heated debate out there.
In-joy,
Bruce

P.S. Here is the same scenario in a different light…

I guy walks up to the bar and says to the fella (a.k.a. Denier) sitting there… hey bro’ can you put that cigarette out.. it is not the best for my lungs or yours?

The fella gives him the finger and says I got a right to smoke here and anywhere I choose… don’t you dare restrict my freedoms. I’ve got plenty of doctors that will tell you there is no link proving that smoking causes cancer! Heck if your alarmist points of view were provable don’t you think the FDA would shut down the tobacco industry? And don’t give me that surgeon general (aka. IPCC) warning hype. That is just a conspiracy of pro-health, anti-freedom, liberal, fear mongering A-holes. Just look at the money trail of who funds those cancer research (a.k.a. Pro-GW) think tanks. Those doctors (a.k.a. scientists) are making a mint on that research. My freedoms and the economy of the tobacco industry (a.k.a. Fossil Fuel industry) is suffering. And when they suffer we all suffer. It is just wrong. They have no idea the damage their ideology will do to the economy of this country and the world.

The Bro’ (aka. alarmist) says, whooo dude peace and love…. you just keep doing what you want but my wife, little boy, and little girl are sitting at the table over yander and they have been diagnosed with asthma . Plus the example you are setting really is not the best for future generations. Since I can’t cite the Surgeon General’s Warning I will assume you don’t care about the other research pertaining to the link between second hand smoke (a.k.a. CO2) and asthma or lung cancer (a.k.a. Global Warming). The corrupt doctors that are telling you that smoking does not cause cancer are funded by the tobacco industry. The doctors have told me is was from the second hand smoke they have been exposed to. Furthermore the sign above the bar says… No Smoking. So since you are smoking, I’ll have to assume you are on fire and put you out!

Yea, like you and what army Bro’? The next thing ya know they will put those damn signs up everywhere. Then they’ll probably even ask me to go outside like a someone’s dog. What do you think those alarmist doctors motivation is? The health of the people and the air they breath?… The goodness of their hearts? … Not!… they are just jumping on the next cash cow… cancer research. Look and the dollars funding that industry. It’s huge. There is the corruption!

Now the sad thing about this scenario and how it relates to our discussion about global warming is that the risks are far far greater. How we manage the risk assessment of the two possible outcomes is huge. It is a far greater challenge than any other generation has ever faced.

So… let’s say the “deniers” are right and we still move forward with climate change solutions that the vast majority of the planet agrees with. The most we would have to loose is some changes in our ways of using the earth’s resources and money. Even that is questionable with new technologies coming on line with the renewable energy markets being very profitable. This is a WIN-WIN outcome.

Then…. let’s say the “deniers” are wrong and we still move forward with climate change solutions that the vast majority of the planet agree with. We save world economies, we save millions of lives, we have better health through cleaner air, water and soil. This is a WIN-WIN outcome.

The Shameful and Shameless Links Between Big Tobacco and Global Warming Deniers

The global warming deniers aren’t just a creation of fossil fuel companies, like ExxonMobil. British author and environmental activist George Monbiot exposes their links to the tobacco industry in an extract from his new book, Heat.
Monbiot lays out the case that “corporate funding of lobby groups denying that manmade climate change is taking place was … started by the tobacco company Philip Morris.” For instance, in 1993, Philip Morris created a phony citizens group to discredit EPA research showing the dangers of second-hand smoke, the Orwellian-named, “the Advancement of Sound Science Coalition.” That coalition launched the career of well-known denier, Steve Milloy, publisher of Junkscience.com, dedicated to misleading the public on a host of critical science issues, especially global warming.
Tobacco smoke harms both those who generate it and those nearby. Greenhouse gas emissions are far less discriminating, and will leave no part of the planet unscathed if they continue to grow unchecked. Anyone who continues to deny the dangerous reality of global warming, who continues to blow smoke in the face of the American public, should be ashamed.

Still not concerned about the link between fossil fuel and deniers?
Here is an interesting link.
The denial industry - For years, a network of fake citizens’ groups and bogus scientific bodies has been claiming that science of global warming is inconclusive. They set back action on climate change by a decade. But who funded them? Exxon’s involvement is well known, but not the strange role of Big Tobacco. In the first of three extracts from his new book, George Monbiot tells a bizarre and shocking new story”

Citizenre is part of the new wave of ‘GREEN’ economies… and it is happening on a global scale. Just like the Climate Changes…

“Increasingly, combating climate change is being perceived as an opportunity rather than a burden and a path to a new kind of prosperity as opposed to a brake on profits and employment.”

United Nations - More and more companies are embracing environmentally-friendly policies and investors are pumping hundreds of billions of dollars into cleaner and renewable energies, according to a new publication released today by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

While the impacts of climate change range from the melting of permafrost and glaciers to extreme weather events, UNEP’s Year Book 2008 shows that it is also causing a shift in the mind-sets, policies and actions of leaders of governments, companies and the UN itself.

How will “U” make a difference in your world ?

Can we each make a difference in the defining issue of our generation… Global Warming?

“You are the center of creation… and everyone else is the center of their universe as well… thus we are all equal, and we are all one.” -Nassim Haramein (Unified Field Therory)

“Could the marriage of science and spirituality answer the deepest mysteries of our past, while solving the problems that threaten our future? A growing body of evidence suggests that the answer to this question is an empowering “YES!” -Gregg Braden

“Your work is to go forth into this physical environment looking for things that are a vibrational match to joy, connecting to Source Energy, and then following with the inspired action.” — Abraham

“A renaissance in scientific awareness is rewriting our fundamental perceptions about life and evolution. Weaving together the elements of the new physics (quantum mechanics), the new biology (epigenetics) and the new math (fractal geometry) reveal that today’s crises are not signifying an end to civilization, rather they are portents of an astounding new beginning, the emergence of a new Phoenix—global humanity.” - Bruce Lipton

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.
Without them, humanity cannot survive.” - Dalai Lama

“U”… have the power to change your world. http://www.1sky.org

I believe the good new is a resounding YES!!!
I know the answers lie not so deep within each of us. Our passion for life through love and compassion will change our own worlds. The gravitiy of how each of our worlds impacts the collective conciousness is emense. We are all co-creators. The collective conciousness is effected by each one of us. But even more importantly is that for any movement to happen we each need to be happy, joyous and awake to our potential.

Celebrating our wonderous co-creation!
May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.

There is much more there check it out!

I also wanted to share a wonderful resource to bring understanding about the real debate about the IPCC, Global Waming etc. I have no intention of re-inventing the wheel here. Others have done a very good job of putting the facts together.

Just visit this site…

I you are still a skeptic… that is perfectly fine. The vast majority of the planet’s people will continue to more forward to solve this problem. Hopefully sooner than later.

The Citizenre REnU solution is one of those “unifying” products that provides an economic solution as well as an environmental solution or vice versa. It does not matter which angel you come at it… it still benefits everyone.

The evidence and the facts are overwhelming. In fact, it seems every few weeks we are finding out about new scientific evidence that the climate crisis is significantly worse and unfolding more rapidly that even the most skeptical points of view from the IPCC.

Like this article from Harvard Science

and this article from Science Daily

The debate about Global Warming will continue, there are those who will always disagree. The “no consensus” argument is just plain uninformed. The real debate is not about if it is happening it is about how quickly and in what ways we will make the changes to solve it.

We Can Do This.
Visualize World Peace.

This is great news about the solar industry and our market. It also gives a picture of the scale and scope of our first 500 megawatt manufacturing plant considering this huge jump in 2007 was only 314 megawatts! The excerts from the article below also raises valid concerns about the ramifications of congress not getting the extension to the renewable tax credits passed.

Solar Energy is Economic Engine for U.S. Economy

Statement by Rhone Resch, SEIA President:

“Over the past few years, the solar energy industry, which includes manufacturers and distributors of photovoltaic, concentrating solar power and solar heating technology, has witnessed unprecedented growth. 2007 was a record year for solar energy, with 314 megawatts of new solar installed in the U.S. This is an increase of 125 percent from 2006. This growth pumped over $2 billion into the U.S. economy and created 6,000 new jobs. And Wall Street invested billions of dollars in solar energy companies, foreseeing the growing global demand for clean, renewable energy sources.

“In addition to manufacturing, solar creates development jobs. As of today, there are 80 utility-scale solar energy projects in the planning stages that represent about 56,000 megawatts of new electric power and 20 thousand permanent jobs. As these projects move forward, they will create hundreds of thousands of construction jobs.

“We recently conducted a survey of our members and found that developing solar energy is an economic engine for America. From 2006 to 2007, their collective revenue grew by 116 percent and their job base grew by 103%. For 2008, the industry projected 60% growth in jobs and a 108% increase in revenues. Almost all of this growth is directly attributable to the solar investment tax credits created in the 2005 Energy Bill that are scheduled to expire at the end of this year.

“Specifically, if the investment tax credit for solar energy is not extended and expanded early in 2008, we will see a net job loss of over 40,000 high quality jobs by 2009.

“I want to echo the words of my colleagues and ask Congress to make an investment in renewable energy. Make an investment that will create jobs, improve our energy independence, ensure American energy security, and begin to address the biggest environmental issue that we face today - global warming. Extending the tax credits for solar energy is timely, targeted and temporary and will help stimulate the US economy.

“It is time for Congress to listen to the will of the American people and pass common-sense policies like the solar investment tax credit.”

For many the debate about Global Warming or Climate Change or Creation Care is ongoing.

What I would like to propose is a way to cooperate with all points of views. This is important as we speak to each other but also how we embrace the wide array of opinions across our great nation.

1.Our solution is appealing to all from monetary, economic and social standpoints. We will give homeowners a way to save money, create thousands of jobs, and move our country toward a safer more energy independent country. We have little to do with weather or not humans are the cause of the climate changes or who is right or wrong in the “debate.”

2. The skeptics are always of value. They enlighten areas we may have overlooked and push us toward that which we want in an indirect but honest way. Sometimes the political spin personal attacks and sarcasm can get ridiculous on both sides of the issue. Finding ways to remain open minded and not accusatory or retaliatory is very important. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” -Gandhi

3. Use common sense. Let’s say global warming is all a political spin and they are wrong that humans are the cause. Or let’s say special interest groups and political spins are trying to create doubt for their own benefits. Then let us find solutions and ways to create a better economy without sacrificing our lifestyle or liberties through a strong renewable energy policy that promotes economic growth and national security. We do not have to have painful governmental mandates. We can responsibly wean our selves from fossil fuels and use our military to protect Americans and not need to fight over oil on foreign soil. The bottom line should be a common goal that benefits all the people not just the corporations although the corporations and the private sector will be providing the solutions. Make going green profitable not just a popular trend and then will will have a solution everyone can get behind.

4. Let the scientific community continue the debate. To pretend to know as much as they do would be foolish. Look at the big picture and the overall message from the majority of scientists with up to date peer reviewed studies. Scientists by nature are very conservative and can never reach total consensus because there is always a margin of error built in to their calculations. Look for overall trends and realize there will always be disagreement.

5. Step back and find common ground with each other. Step away from the political and religious platforms and find ways to be inclusive rather than fault finding or trying to persuade others to your point of view. Use compassion and kindness as a guideline.

6. Make a difference with the Citizenre REnU renewable energy solution, help folks upgrade their homes to solar… everybody wins!

Below is an article from the Christian Science Monitor that is very congruent with these points.

Hope this helps bridge the gap on climate change.

In-joy,

Bruce

GLOBAL WARMING REPORT: A CALL FOR ALL TO CARE FOR GOD’S CREATION
Faith and science can complement each other to accomplish a common cause.
By Joel C. Hunter
from the February 8, 2007 edition Christian Science Monitor

“The earth is not heating up nearly as fast as the debate about its climate. We can blow up so irresponsibly that we lose the steam we need to act constructively. Or we can respond to this environmental challenge in a way that increases respect and effectiveness, while decreasing the hot error.”

“The most credible authority on climate change is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a panel of hundreds of the world’s best scientists, evaluated by hundreds of other scientists, further evaluated by government officials of 154 countries and the major national academies of science around the world. Scientists, like cats, are difficult to coordinate. Therefore, this continually updated consensus report is a very conservative document. This year’s report, released last Friday, says that there is more than a 90 percent likelihood that human activity is a significant contributor to climate change. I believe it because they are the experts (not politicians or some retired engineer who has “done his own research”). All the disagreements I have read have either been founded on old information or have very limited perspectives.”

I received this email from a new friend of mine and thought that it is something that we might all do to make a little boy happy. He is not asking for any money… just some folded airplanes. Here is part of that forwarded email:

###
From: Monica Simons
Subject: Please read this email - Paying it Forward for a 5 year old cancer patient and his quest

Hi Everyone! I have a very special favor to ask each and everyone of you. This past Saturday JT and I met Hunter at Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo . After meeting him I knew I had to help his quest. I had heard about his quest Thursday before we met by chance on Saturday. All I can say is that he and his family are very strong and getting Hunter to talk about his airplanes is the one thing that keeps his hopes up and the drive to get through the next several weeks so he can go home and see all the places people have sent airplanes from. With that being said, please read the information below, pass this email along to everyone you know and lets help Hunter get into the Guiness Book of World Records! Pay it Forward People…..

Hunter Winship is a 5 year old boy from Fillmore , New York . He is in Kindergarten. Hunter’s wish is to make it into the Guiness Book of Records for recieving the most paper airplanes. JT and I had the pleasure of meeting Hunter on Feb. 2nd and after talking with him I felt I had to help spread the word. He is a very courageous young man. Hunter was diagnosed with rare form of cancer called Burkitts cancer. It only affects about 300 children a year between the ages of 2-11. Burkitts is one of the fastest growing tumors. Hunter went to Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo on Jan. 25th with the tumor being the size of a tennis ball. By the following Monday the tumor had grown to the size of a cantalope. Hunter was started on chemo and the treatment shut down his kidneys and then his liver started failing. Then on Monday he told his mom that he could not see very well and then he quit breathing. Hunter has had tubes placed down his throat, nose and tubes in his arms and toes. He has swelling in the brain due to high blood pressure. When Hunter went into the hospital he weighed 40 pounds and as of writing this email he weighs about 70 poounds due to the fluid build up. Hunter is in intensive care and is stable. All Hunter needs from you is a paper airplane. All you need to do is to make a paper airplane and put the state where you are from on it or the country you are from on the wing. Then send it to…..

Please help this little boy reach his dream of being in the Guiness Book of World Records. He is a terrific little guy and I told him I lots of friends that I would email and ask for help. His mom was very appreciative. It took all I had to keep from crying but his mom reassured me Hunter looks forward to going home and seeing all those airplanes from all over the world. Please help us help Hunter! God Bless…. Monica and JT

Here are some of the current news storys with photos of Hunter…
Channel 4 Article

From the article…….
‘And one of the only things better than setting the plane record are the results of Hunter’s first chemo treatment. “They wanted tumor depreciated by 20 percent. He actually lost 50 percent.” Young Hunter’s prognosis is very promising. Chances are he’ll grow up to set more records, possibly with a real plane.’

Email Update:
Mrs. Wilkowlowski’s class at Cleveland Hill High School started making paper airplanes for the boy in Freedom this morning. By the end of 2nd Period, they had 500. News traveled to the art classes, where the teacher, Miss Paternostro, allowed the students to abandon their class work to make more airplanes to support the cause. Senior and Valedictorian, Kerry Michelsen, relayed the story to her classmates in Economics class, and Mr. Haley, their teacher, said the kids could make the planes out of the test papers they were supposed to take, while Kerry took the test for the entire class. (everyone would get the grade she got in lieu of making paper airplanes) She got 28/30 as a grade for their efforts.
